Water Meter Reading

Hello All - new member here with a quick question if you would please - thanks so much.

I checked my Neptune T-10 water meter and overnight the gallon #s did not move at all but the red sweep hand moved from the middle of the 9 and 0 to the middle of the 1 and 2, so that = 2 x .01 = .02 gallons = 2.56 ozs right ?

And that's fine right = no leak ? What could that small movement be the result of ?

A Small movement can be cavitation. In other words, sometimes the meter is close to the water main and water entering the main goes through the meter and back towards the main giving a false reading of consumption
