Getting ready to start a new laundry room project and wanted to make sure I was on the right track.

The old laundry room had a single sink on one side of the room and the washer/dryer on the other. The idea now is to put the washer and dryer next to the sink. I'm attaching a picture of the current setup with my proposed new drain / vent on top in red.

Does this look correct? Anything I'm forgetting about?

Thanks

Sorry... I thought you were replacing the sink on the left. Your drawing is correct for adding the clothes washer to the existing drain.

PS.. I tried deleting that erroneous post because i figured out what your intent was but couldnt find a Delete for the post.. so then I was in the middle of editing it.. when my desk became a meeting place and I had to redirect my attention.

In the middle of dry fitting everything together and ran across something I haven't dealt with before.

The old ABS pipe was at a pretty severe angle from the bottom to top plate of the wall. I could either copy that angle and tie everything together or I could use two 45s where the old and new vent pipes tie together. My questions are:

1. Is there a preferable approach? I like the idea of my pipes looking 'neat' but I'm sure it doesn't matter.
2. If I use 2 45s, it would be easier to use a regular 45 and a street 45. If I go that route, which direction should the street end face? Is it also inverted like the tee since it's a vent pipe?

Also, in case anyone is wondering, I currently have a 45 loose fit to the existing ABS. This will not stay there - they will be tied to together with a mission band/fernco. I just wanted to see if 2 45s would be the correct offset. There will also be another 'false' wall in front of the existing stud wall that will contain the new work.

It all looks good. Lining up your work puts less stress on the horizontal run and makes keeping grade easier. But the only people that know are you and us... I prefer my work to be neat and tidy. When your work is being inspected, its a lot easier for an inspector to sign if it looks like you know what you're doing. Sloppy work attracts attention and scrutiny from my experience.

It is being inspected which is why I wanted it as neat as possible!

Is a street 45 ok on the vent section? Should it also be inverted - meaning the ‘street’ portion is facing the ceiling? Or should it face the floor?

I would add a cleanout above the sink, or at least not blocked by the sink. A wye would be good, and get the snake headed down.

So.. if its going to be inspected, you will also need to add a way to plug the drain, so that water can be filled into the pipes to show that they don't leak. As Reach4 mentions That could be a wye above the sink drain that you stuff a long 2 balloon down and becomes a clean out fitting after test.
