Allow me to start off by saying that I am not a plumber. I am a homeowner looking for a relatively easy fix, and I greatly appreciate any help that you may be able to provide.
My washing machine single-lever shut off valve started leaking at the lever, only when it's on. A Google search quickly revealed several videos of people with the same problem who fixed it by replacing the valve body. So, I purchase a replacement and removed the old valve. To my dismay, the old valve is 2 9/16" on center, while the replacement valve is 2 3/8". There's no play in the fittings coming through the box, so the 2 3/8" valve will not fit.
I believe the valve is original to the house, which was built in 1993. It has no markings to indicate a manufacturer or model number. Compared to the Watts 175C that I purchased it is definitely wider on center. I have been searching for a while now and can only find these valves with the standard 2 3/8" spacing.
Does anyone know who manufactured this valve and if it is still available? Or, is there another option?
Thanks,
Brian
