Plumber installed this setup for a washing machine drain. I got a new washing machine shortly after, now it overflows out of drain pipe. All the piping is 1.5" and AAV is located bellow floodplane of washing machine drain. It ties in to drain line for sink located upstairs. If I change everything to 2" pipe for washing machine drain and make AAV higher than top of drain pipe, will this solve problem. Thanks.

I received some more information. It is at my son's house. He used to have a utility sink down there as well. Noticed that sink was backing up whenever the washing machine was ran. A plumber came and said it was because of bad DIY plumbing. The sink was removed and that plumbing was installed. He has since gotten a new HE washing machine. The drain pipe is 24" long and pipe that AAV is attached to is 14".
