I’ve been looking through this forum but haven’t found exactly what my situation is. I am replacing a toilet and want to replace the flange due to the amount of rust. However, the pvc is cemented to the pipe below so I am unable to take it out.

I’m trying to post a picture but it is saying the file is too big. The flange is surrounded by tile and in an upstairs bathroom. I would have to cut through drywall in the finished downstairs in order to access the stack (was finished when I bought the home).

Can I chisel out the metal ring around it and replace that? Heat the pvc to loosen the cement? I’ve read different solutions but am unsure which is the best option.

Thanks in advance!

There is a good chance you can use a repair ring.
Use that as a search term in this forum.
