Hi everyone,

As some of you know I've been working on getting my well working for a little while now.

Part of the discussion has been what brand and model of pump to buy. In the end I had decided on a submersible pump and wanted a 115V 1/2 HP pump (same as my old pump).

Two brands that came up were Hallmark and Vevor. It's a long story that doesn't matter for this post but I ended up with both of them. Having both gave me the opportunity to compare them and I now believe they are both manufactured by the same company and they are nearly identical.

In all of these images the Vevor is on the left and the Hallmark on the right.

I wrote the company with the model numbers of both pumps asking if they are, in fact, the manufacture and if they have any additional technical documentation like a service manual or parts diagrams.

I believe the manufacture of both of these pumps is:

Zhejiang Doyin Technology Co., Ltd
https://www.doyin.com/

The models they show on their site don't exactly match either of my pumps but they also say they can modify them for a reseller who orders them.

The differences I've found between these two pumps are:

VevorHallmark
Flow max28 gpm25 gpm
Head max167 ft.150 ft.
Capacitor35µF/250V40µF/250V
Pump height28"26"

I'm no expert but only based on the specs it looks like the Vevor is a better pump. But, is the difference enough to make a difference in actual performance?

I'm not sure what the capacitor difference would make to how the pumps perform.

I currently have the Hallmark installed in the well. Any thoughts on if I should swap them and put the Vevor in the well? The pump is 20 feet down and the water level is 13 feet down. I'm guessing for this installation I likely would not see any difference in performance.

Thanks again for everyone's help!
Larry.

Lol! Thanks for that. It looks like the motors are identical, but the pumps are different. Many of the brand name pumps in the US use the same motor with different names and different pump ends. The motor company is probably selling to both pump companies, and each has their own pump ends. They are very similar. But the fact that one builds 167' of head and the other only 150' max means they have different impellers. At your depth either will work with a 30/50 switch, but at 59 PSI max on one and not much more for the other I wouldn't try 40/60.
