Vent through gable ?

Can you have a bathroom vent through the high part of a gable wall? Like very near the roof itself? I have a simple ranch home so it would be near the peak of the roof and hopefully I can do this so I don't have to go through the roof. And is 2" PVC ok to use? This is a second bath, far from the main vent. -- thanks

I mean the vent would be just inches from the roof, so fail to see the difference. ?

A 2" vent works for a bathroom.
The vent should extend higher than the roof. It needs to disperse the sewer fumes where the winds are.
