Vent question

I realize my s trap is not advisable, and I can fix it if need be, it was inherited with the house we bought. (Edit to the photo - there is a dishwasher between the sink and wall the vent goes up in)

My question is should I replace this with a p trap? And two, is the vent doing anything in this system? It does go through the roof eventually.
If I replace the s trap with a p trap, will leaving that vent below the floor be my vent at that point or should I add an aav (I’ll have enough room to run it up the side of the sink to just beneath the underside of the counter)?

The "vent" below the floor is useless in that configuration. Unless the take off will be at the trap arm, I would just add an AAV.

i updated my photo to show the dishwasher there which is probably why it’s vented the way it is. So, make it a p trap and add aav?

If you don't smell stuff, I would leave it. If Washington later allows AAVs in the code, or if you smell sewer smells, you might consider making the change then. I see there was an attempt to get an amendment... https://sbcc.wa.gov/sites/default/files/2022-04/057_Section 913_UPC.pdf

Does the dishwasher drain line feed into the sink drainage?

Is there a vent thing outside (non-roof)? Washington has a unique permitted venting for dishwashers. "Johnson tee". Maybe you have that, and did not notice. https://terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/johnson-t-advice.15988/ I don't think that applies to kitchen sinks, but I am not sure.

The dishwasher does drain into one of the vertical sink drain lines. And no the only vent is going through the roof, as shown in my sketch

The dishwasher does drain into one of the sinks vertical drain tailpieces. And no there is no unique vent for the dishwasher. Sorry I didn’t realize I already replied it didn’t show up until I posted this one

Your trap is not vented in the configuration the diagram shows. The vent shown does nothing for the sink or dishwasher.
