Hello all. I have a washing machine in garage that sometimes overflows. I’ve snaked it 25ft snake and that seems to help for awhile. Now the kitchen sink is overflowing when running the dishwasher and the washer is overflowing again. There is about 10 ft between washing machine and kitchen sink. Nothing else is the house drains slowly or backs up that I noticed. I’ve had a plumber out and he said he felt no blockages when snaking. Any ideas would be most helpful.

    Thanks
    Mitch

You might bring in a drain cleaning specialist. The problem is unlikely to be a clogged vent, but they might do some snaking from the roof vent.

Chances are your 25 ft snake is small enough that it pushes thru the clog, but leaves most of it in place.

My snake is 5/16 I believe. Would renting a 1/2 50 ft long be better? My only concern with that is that will it bend past the trap?

There should be accessible cleanouts in the piping, and if not we sometimes just cut the pipe to snake it. If you are up for it, go rent a real drain cleaning machine that will scour the sides of the pipe as it is being used. If I am going to clean a drain, my goal is to get all the way out to the street.

I recently purchased a Clog Hog for use at my church on a mop sink drain that has been plugged up for years and tried by many. This was after twice myself trying to clear it with manual and power snakes. Since you are in Florida, many of us homeowners have a pressure washers. If not, all rental shops rent pressure washers including your ACE hardware.

I bought mine from https://www.cloghog.com/categories.php I have a 3.0 gal/min pressure washer and bought the 50 footer. Sewer Jetter by SewerFlex for more $$$. Clog Hog emphasises about the small jetter head that allows it to turn through traps. By quickly triggering the gun the vibration wiggles it through the trap. This mop sink was a three inch pipe and trap and it was about 18" below the concrete slab. The plug was about 10-15 feet further in the wye at the main horizontal drain pipe leading to a grease trap and it was past the vent pipe. Mine you that I had to tackle this from the sink so the dried up soap and grease plug came back into the sink as it was dissolved and cut by the Clog Hog. We had the whole drain system jetted from the grease trap when the grease trap was cleaned. The huge jetter used by the pros would not take the turn to the wye where is was plugged. You won't be disappointed with this tool.
