Valve type?

Anyone regonize this type of valve? And the connection to the valve? Looks like iron pipe soldered to the bronze fitting.

Hmm... looks like a compression valve on plastic pipe to me. I am not a pro.

Take a magnet to that pipe.

Tapped it with a screwdriver, it's metal. Too smooth to be black pipe though. Just not sure how it's attached to the fitting, I can see no threads so I don't think it's threaded on. Maybe soldered but no telltale signs of solder. Wondering if it's silver soldered on.

What is the OD? 0.875?, 1.125? 1.050? A digital or vernier caliper is the tool, although you can use a strip of paper, mark it, unroll the paper, measure the length, and divide by pi (3.14).

Get a magnet... super easy... that will eliminate thoughts of steel.

I have not seen black metal pipe with legible white ink on it. My experience is limited.

It is a half union globe angle valve. With a bleeder to prevent freezing in the winter
