Valve too close to toilet!

All the toilets in my house have the valves placed nearly behind the toilet center. I assume the spec builder was trying to hide them. But now the toilets need to be replaced and i don't want to buy the same crappy Kohlers. Am tired Of plungers! i want a top notch toilet . I was sold on the toto soire but from pics it seems the skirt hugs the wall at the rear do I would have to move all of the valves , which I really do not want to do. Is there a toilet from toto that the base is well away from the rear wall, so that the valve extending 3.5" from wall won't hit it? I still prefer the soire but Maybe the ultra max? There is a right angle valve that can sit closer to the wall than most. I don't remember the name, but somebody will.

Dahl makes some nice shutoff valves that might work for you. If I remember, made in Canada, not outsourced, so quality and care used in their construction. As a result, not the cheapest out there, but not out of line, especially if it helps you get by without calling a plumber.

Google them. They are available online and at many plumbing supply places. (Look up "Plumbing Supply" in the Yellow Pages.)

The Rowan isn't a Toto I would recommend, even if it would fit. If you can fit the Soiree, which you probably can with the Dahl kit, that's an excellent choice.

And if you're using a plumber, another option is just for him to cut off the valve and solder a 90 on the pipe where it comes out of the wall, bring it over to a point outside the width of the toilet, and put a valve there. The Dahl is a more elegant solution though, and it's a well-made quarter-turn ball valve, so it's going to last forever.

I don't know the Rowan other than the spec sheet. What do you not like about it? I do see that it has the flush button rather than a lever, and I have to agree that that is a negative. It does give a lot of space behind however.

I would think the Soiree would be one of the least in giving access to the wall behind the toilet. It is skirted, and the skirt goes almost to the wall. https://terrylove.com/pdf/ms964214cefg.pdf

Not the same trapway as, say, the Drake. (Video author wrongly assumed that this was a dual flush tank on a Drake bowl.)
