Two Check Valves... Moved pump

Other then Why would I, is there any harm having two check valves on the same incoming line. They are spaced about 1ft from the pump inlet and the other is about 6 foot from the pump inlet (previous installation) should I remove the furtherest one...

The closer the check valve is to the bottom of the well the better. Or in other words the furthest it is from the pump, the better.

One valve is all you need or want.
