I have removed an old jacuzzi tub from our master bath and plan on building a shower.

I believe I am going to have to cut the slab to move the drain to the middle for the shower but can’t tell if there is an existing p-trap already down below the concrete connecting to main line.

Is it safe to assume there is a p-trap already because of the tub?

Do I need to add a trap below the new shower drain or just straight pipe to existing connection?

I plan on building mud pan or Kerdi shower pan for tiled floor. Any opinions? Should I work with the current offset drain or cut concrete and reroute drain to center?

Either way is fine. More showers are being done with the drains on the end. As long as you have slope, it shouldn't matter.
