I've searched the forums to educate myself about the types of tub faucets, but I can't seem to figure mine out. It twists around easily, but then nothing when I tug on it. I thought I'd ask for advice here first before getting more aggressive with it as I'm a newbie at this and don't want to damage the piping.

It has what looks like a little tab towards the back, might that have something to do with it?

If you scrape away the bottom of the spout close to the wall, there is a Allen key screw that holds the spout to the copper pipe. Loosen the screw and it should come off.
