Replacing an old bathtub in basement on slab with new one. The shoe is about 1/2” too low for the new acrylic tub. Ideas? Can the trap and shoe be changed without busting out flooring? If so, how? Can shoe be “extended”. Or just add some rubber gaskets? Also, should the hole in the floor be filled with gravel and cement once connections made? TIA.

New tub, new waste and overflow with new p-trap.
Making the adjustment with the 45's above the trap is causing problems. You may be able to cut behind the coupling at the wall, or if needed you can drill out the fitting and start over.

There are several branded bits that work for that.
