i just bought a new cartridge for my tub, delta 1300/1400 series. I took the old one out & replaced it with the new one only thing is when the new one is placed water doesn’t come out of it at all. I took it out put the old one back in just to be sure boing was wrong with my line & the old one worked. Please help ! Tub has been leaking for months and I don’t know what to do!

are you sure you're using the right cartridge. Take the old cartridge out and make sure they are the same. While you have the cartridge out, use a set of cheap picks. you may have some of the old rubber in there or some other obstruction. either that or close the shower curtain tight and have your wife keep a lookout. turn the water on and let the water pressure blow out anything that might be causing an obstruction.

But the water comes out with the old cartridge inside, so it couldn’t be anything blocking.

If there is water getting through, but NO WATER getting through the new cartridge, you have some obstruction inside the cartridge. Solution: take the cartridge apart and remove obstruction.

Take your cartridge and hold it by the balls. Grab it by the throat and give it a counter-clockwise twist. Look inside. Remove the obstruction. Inspect the springs and the rubber seals. Twist it back together, taking care that you don't dick up the seals. Replace the cartridge. Turn the water on.
