We have two water heaters which I think are connected in parallel. The pipes are mostly behind a wall but if the one that is causing issues is on the water starts to get Luke warm. If I turn it off I can get hot water consistently.

I have changed the thermostats and heating elements. It worked for a little bit and then water issues started happening again.

The heater in question has a turn off valve on hor water side instead of cold water side to make things extra fun which tripped me up good when I was draining and flushing. It requires main line turn off.

Any suggestions?

how old are the heaters.....??

you could have a bad diptube on one of them depending on the age...

its better to re-pipe the heaters and make them in series instead of parrallel...
because sometimes a restriction in one of them will make the not draw off evenly....

or you just have some bad elements

it all depends on the age of the units

good luck and have fun....
