I had a few issues with a Toto toilet that has a GMax Flush system.

First off, the water level in the bowl was lower than it should have been, and when it would flush, the appropriate amount of water would appear to leave the tank, but the bowl would not fill, and when flushed, the toilet would make a gurgling or sputtering sound from the area where the water entered the bowl. This happened for a few days, but now the toilet seems to be fine - any ideas why that would have happened?

Secondly, the water level in the bowl seems to be about an inch low, but the levels in the tank appear normal. Is there a way to adjust this?

Thanks for the help!!

Make sure that the hose from the fill valve is correctly positioned into the overflow tube, is attached to the fill valve, and isn't kinked...that is what fills the bowl. To check how high the bowl level can get, take a bucket and SLOWLY pour water into the bowl. Then, let it sit for 30-seconds or so. That will be the max the bowl can hold, regardless of how much you put in it.

If the toilet isn't level or the hose to the overflow tube isn't positioned properly are the two most common reasons for problems with bowl height. It would take a lot off level to actually change that height, but it can happen. A toilet bowl is like a cup filled to overflowing...no matter how much more you put into it, it can't get any higher.
