Our home is new to us, but built c. 1969. Some updates have been made over time in the bathrooms, and I'm sure many repairs. The shower is a tub/shower with a single pull-handle. Recently it started wobbling and is threatening to stop being useful altogether. I'll removed it, took some pictures of the assembly and headed to the hardware store to get a replacement. Not only can I not find a replacement easily, I'm not even sure I know the manufacturer. After a lot of research and guesswork (I took a flier on a couple of Moen clone handles and even a Moen Chateau) I'm lost and desperate.
In the pics, you can see that the stop tube housing contains a part that protrudes from it slightly, is attached to the stem, and has some flanges that are bent out. In the existing setup, those flanges fit into the handle and are what turn it when the whole thing is attached.
After more inspection, I realized that the old handle was also a Moen clone that had been manually modified to fit the existing cartridge. You can see in the inner circle that there are uneven cut marks that were made so the flanges would fit into this handle.
I'd settle for someone being able to identify the manufacturer and model and tell me I'm SOL
