I'm remodeling my bathroom, and since I still need to use the bathroom for as much time as possible, I will have to remove and re-install the toilet at least 2-3 times (for drywall, painting, flooring, etc.). My question is, do I have to replace the wax ring each and every time I remove the toilet, or can I temporarily re-use one, and then finally install a brand-new one when I don't have to remove the toilet anymore?

You might consider a waxless seal. That gets rid of that problem.

Wax is pretty cheap. However if you want to save a maximum, you could re-form the wax back into a ring that is higher. That way the reused wax will squish as you drop the toilet.

Either new wax each time or use something like a Sani-Seal that can be reused.

Wax.........a few bucks, your flooring, priceless.

The time and effort to reform the wax so it can make a seal is, IMHO, definitely not worth it. Either pick up some wax rings, or choose a waxless seal. There are at least 3 out there, and they all work.
