Tankless water heater in crawlspace vent slope.

Rannai water heater installed in crawlspace with no condensation collector. Should,nt the vent slope downhill away from the water heater and to the outside. The one in the photo does not. Thanks for your input.

Where is the photograph?

In general, yes, unless the condensate trap is used, the horizontal run has to have at least some slope to force any condensate to drip outdoors, not back into the unit, and the port for the trap has to be capped to keep the exhaust out of the crawl space.
