i would like to pair a Rinnai rxp130in with a 20 gallon electric heater. the rinnai has a built in recirc pump. where should i place the electric tank. should the rinnai feed the electric tank or should the electric be in the dedicated recirc line between the furthest fixture and the cold water input to the rinnai. i've questioned multiple ai's. they give me complete opposite answers, interestingly enough citing the same reason for theiranswer

Use a Navien NPE A2 with the built in minitank and recirc built in. Call it a day. adding a tank is obsolete concept these days. We used to do what you are asking about, in the dark ages.
