Tank in wall carrier in exterior 2x4 wall - bad idea?

I am interested in installing a tank in wall toilet in our house. It would be on an exterior wall which uses 2x4 framing and does not have sheathing - instead it just has board and batt siding. The floor joists underneath run parallel to the exterior wall.

How bad of an idea is this? Things I'm concerned about:
1. nails popping in from the siding damaging tank. Even just somebody doing a repair and using too long of a nail. I wonder if I could put a steel plate behind the tank to protect it?
2. A large hole has to be drilled for the waste through the bottom plate which will likely structurally compromise that 2x4?
3. Likely a notch will have to be taken out of the floor joist as I suspect it is directly underneath the wall.

What do you think? Anybody done this before?

I will only work on and install the 2 x 6 product. 4" wall is a crappy setup with no working room for human hands.

This is going to be a remodel that goes down to the studs. Does that change things?

Why don't you shim the wall out to 2x6?

Doing that would mess up a bunch of things to be honest. I could probably shim it out half an inch, maybe 1 inch max.
