Is there a "sweet spot" for the flow of water to hit in a rectangular vessel sink? Right in the center, a bit forward, or a bit back?

if it hits right into the drain it will cause all kinds of problems, poor drainage being the most likely. too far forward or back, could cause the water to follow the curve of the sink and splash out onto the countertop.
