When I switched from a failing pedestal sump pump to a submersible one I installed the check valve about 18" above the lid, as shown.
Now, with my OCDC, I wonder if I should have located it lower, although not below the lid, where I cannot see it. I can hear the water below the valve gushing back each time it pumps out. Would it be advantageous to relocate the check valve 18" lower, or would that just be a waste of time and effort?
