We are in a new build (moved in 2020-FEB) and recently had a water softener installed along with a activated carbon filter.
We are now noticing that there is a strong sulfur smell coming from the hot water in our kitchen faucet, guest bathroom sink & tub and utility sink in our garage. The cold water doesn't have any smell coming from any faucets in the house.
The weird thing is that the master bathroom doesn't have this issue -- master bath sits on the other side of the wall where water heater sits in garage. We can use our hot water in master bathroom with no sulfur smell.
Does this sound like an anode issue with the water heater or is something else going on with the pipes that could be driving this smell? I have a disinfectant solution that came with the water softener and going to try it, but I have a feeling this method won't address issue at its root.
