Installing a maxx shower base. All underneath is Styrofoam. It squeaks and compresses like crazy. It's going on a concrete floor. Does this need some sort of motar underneath.

Probably a V8 with twin carbs. LOL I don't know about the brand, but the most common method of installation is to use clumps of mortar that will squish out and support the base. I suspect the styrofoam is just packing. Sorry about the

It's so easy to get the instructions on-line these days.
Google "Maxx Shower" find the model you have and download the instructions.
For the deep base model, it says"

To provide structural support, enhance soundproofing and help levelling,
spread a layer of cement and cover it with a 2 mm sheet
of polyethylene.
The layer must b
thick enough, but it must not raise the unit
too high.
Making sure that the installation is level
(position your level in the middle of the
thresholds), reposition the base in place
for the cement to take the form of the base
perfectly while it is still wet. If you need to
stabilize the unit while the cement is drying,
use wooden shims."
