The bathroom faucet was put in 6 years ago. It started being difficult to turn on and off and has a horrible creaking sound. I looked online and saw some videos on using silicone lubricant on the o-rings in the cartridge and cleaning it up a bit to make it work better. However, I couldn't find a video for the exact model that I have. I got the handle off fine, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the cartridge out. In the videos, they'd remove the brushed nickel collar or dome (making up my own terms here since I'm not a plumber!) - but I can't budge it. I tried pulling the cartridge straight up, but that doesn't budge either. The cartridge will turn - but it's stiff and creaky.

Any advice on how to proceed with this project? I have not fixed many things in my life, but with You tube, I've learned to do simple things. I was hoping this would be something I could tackle on my own. Thanks in advance for your help!
