Probably an easy one but updating my water lines from 1/2” to 3/4” and am trying to figure out what this fitting is before I take it apart. Not sure what that coller with the screw is all about.

I was thinking I could solder a 3/4" threaded adapter and then thread it on to the back flow preventer.

Please let me know what that coller fitting is and what the best option would be for going to 3/4"

Thanks!

You are not asking about the piece that 23696 cast into it? You are asking about the 2nd fitting above that with the blue plastic pipe attached? I expect that is a barbed (insert) adapter. Whether that thing with a screw is just the equivalent function of a worm gear clamp or whether it is integral to the adapter, I don't know.

How about a picture of that thing at the bottom of the photo with 23696 cast into it? Looks interesting.

I think the thing between is a reducer. If you take off the reducer, you might have 3/4.

What is the OD of the blue pipe? Is that from the well?

Is that a water meter at the bottom of the photo? I don't know what thread those use.

It may be that if you unscrew the fitting from the back flow preventer, you may have 3/4 NPT thread. That would be 1.05 OD at widest.
