Dealing with a stainless steel kitchen sink.
Normally the left side tub is used for washing pots/pans. Right side unused.
After draining left sink soap bubbles appear in right sink drain.

Question:
1) Is this common -- or -- anyway to eliminate (BTW doesn't cause a problem just curious)?
FWIW the two sinks are same depth as are the two drain assemblies, so little pitch from the right to left (primary) drain.

IF each sink were trapped individually, that probably wouldn't happen, but it sounds like they are combined, then go to a trap, so that is not unusual.

Look under your sink. A lot of double sinks share one trap.

One of your sinks may have the tailpipe, and the other sink does not, just a horizontal going to the first sink's tailpipe.

For fun, try using the other sink once to do your dish washing. The bubbles may not return.

The "bubbles" may also be caused by a partially clogged drain after the trap, if the rate of your graywater disposal isn't optimal. Pretty much every kitchen out there has partial fatbegs lining their pipe walls. Even a 50% cross section area of pipe with a fatberg will work fine, and goes unnoticed by most.

You'll need to decide if the need to cut away everything under your sinks and re-glue everything with each sink with its own traps, is greater than "bubbles".

As you drain the wash sink, hit the bubbles with a shot of cold water from the sprayer just as they go down the drain...
