Hi all:

I need to replace the valve in a Toto that has a "surge" filling problem (had this in other toilets in the house too, but haven't dealt with this one since we moved in). Can someone ID the model so I can be sure I get the right part?

I assume what I need is either the Korky silver cap fill valve 528MP or the Korky blue cap 528T, but want to be sure.

Also probably need new washers, but I think the flapper is fine.

Thanks!

Also get a pressure gauge. A gauge with a garden hose thread is cheap. I only suggest that because you are saying you had some symptoms in other toilets too. Check the pressure 20 minutes after a hot shower when no water has been used since the shower.

Those were both resolved with new valves (which were probably about a decade old), so I am inclined to think it isn't the pressure in the house, but I'll probably try that at some point.
