Source for activated carbon / charcoal?

I need to re-media my Ecowater ETF 2100-PF10 multipurpose filter. The housing is 10 x 47". The last time I bought activated carbon, it was coconut something or other. I was surprised at how dusty it was when I opened the UPS box. I had to clean out the downstream softener venturi several times cuz small particles were carried over from the filter. This was my first diy carbon replacement, I didn't (and still don't) know what to expect. What's a good source for AC, good pricing, and example of specification?
