I have a very small powder room (3’ x 4’) and a wall hung toilet will make the best use of the space. However, the in-wall carrier can only fit on the wall adjoining the living room.

Does anyone have experience regarding the noise level that will create and suggestions for the best way to soundproof it?

Many thanks

There are many ways to soundproof plumbing. Adding a couple different layers of density of materials in the wall are usually the first layer. We have a project now where the entire ceiling has a thick rubber mat with rock wool insulation over the top. Adding a layer of self adhesive asphalt to the drain pipe too will help reduce the vibration sound from the drain pipe. If you have the ability to change the wall surface of the living room will help too. There are sheetrocks made with 2 layers of gypsum with a center layer that dramatically cuts down sound.
