Something missing with Moen shower lever repair?

I have an old Moen lift lever shower valve (circa 2005) that is dripping... so I talked to Moen and they said they would supply parts under warranty. Great! They sent me a new lever (94740) and two other parts (94746 and 96806) as well as 1225 valve. But I have two problems. My existing handle is not a pull out push in handle... it is a lift tip of handle to turn water on and rotate for hot/cold. These new parts they sent do not seem to be correct? The handle (94740) looks exactly the same, but the rest does not look like it works together... or may be some other part missing. But I can't find any parts diagram, instructions, video anywhere. Which leads to my second problem... I cant get the old handle off to see what's underneath... :) And I would love to know if I am missing something so I can have all parts before I remove the handle and the shower is out of service. The old handle set screw was obviously rusted after 19 years and no way it was coming out... so I drilled it out with 5/32 bit and it seems like I went plenty far enough. Still won't budge. I tried to deluge with vinegar. No help. The piece underneath pivots with the handle lever, and therefore pulling straight out is only applying pressure on the top part of the pivot piece and not down by the set screw where it is probably rusted together. Any advice would be appreciated. And if anyone knows what parts are really under there or know of a parts diagram I would greatly appreciate it. I have been searching for hours and I do not find anything online or YouTube about any Moen lift lever shower valve. Thank you for your help!

Moen doesn't make a shower cartridge that moves the way you describe.
Delta and Valley are distinctly similar in action as you describe.
The set screw would be stainless steel, but the handle is usually pot metal, so that is what corrodes the set-screw in place and even us plumbers need finesse/luck/experience.

I guess they don't now, but they did back in 2000 when I built the house. It is still original. My original plumbing specs show Moen Chateau L3189, I took a closer pic with flash... shows Moen on bottom edge. I sent Moen a picture and the part numbers I listed above are what the told me I needed. May be I need to take an oscillating tool to the handle in a few spots... :)

That definitely does not look like the model number that you posted. It almost looks like someone frankensteined a lav handle and mechanism onto the MoenTrol trim.

If it rotates to turn water on and then adjust, it is Moen. If your "lift tip" description to turn water on remains, then it is not.

I appreciate everyone's input. If my contractor, at the time I built the house, switched out the valve with something else, then I will not know what I am dealing with until I get the handle off. :( It is strange that the Moen handle they sent me (94740) matches what I have exactly. I found a picture I took before sheetrock went up. Is there any way to tell from the pic if it is a Moen valve or some other brand? Does the hole on the left give any clue? Some sort of adjustment? What is my best way to get the handle off? Any other choice besides cut it off with oscillating tool?

The moen 101099 handle connector is what changes the action of your cartridge from a pull to a lift. This adapter loops round the bar on the 94746 adapter and changes the fulcrum point to the 12 o-clock position and create a lift to the handle.
This might be your missing part. however yours might still be in good shape and reusable.
Good luck.

Thanks! That makes sense... I will try to get the handle off to see if the parts are still usable behind it. I believe my old handle is rusted to the metal piece you show above... probably on the block the screw goes through that fits in the handle. Any advice before I use oscillating tool to cut it up? I tried vinegar yesterday... will try some penetrating oil today...

forget penetrating oil. does nothing. drilling out usually does the trick.
That valve body is Moentrol pressure balancing body with a balancing spool.
