Someone took submersible pump controll box

I have a customer that bought a house and the 3 wire submersible pump control box is missing. Is there a way to tell what size the pump is without pulling it out of the well?

You can get close by using an ohm meter on each leg of the wire. Or if you have a larger box to borrow, you can read how many amps the motor is pulling.
