Hi,

This was my first solder job (practiced on many pieces).

There are no leaks...is good (no leaks) "good"?

Its been suggested (wifey), that I should get someone to "check it out" before enclosing the walls.

Thank you.

It's hard to tell by that picture, but if the fittings were evenly heated and the solder flowed easily, then I would think that you did well.

Did you solder with the stops taken out? Usually I like to have the pipe coming down to spout secured.

Being my first job, I soldered the valve connections (the two supply lines and the tub spout line) on the bench and then soldered the "octopus valve " in place at the two lower fittings and used a repair coupler for the pipe going to the shower.

The valve connections tested me as the brass took much longer to heat up. Had to be patient until the brass was hot enough. Had to redo a couple of them.

Everything seems solid...being my first, just looking for advice.

Thank you

I've seen plumbers do worse. Lol.
I would suggest a drop ear elbow on the tub spout next time.

Did you solder the vertical pipe while it was vertical. Its possible you may have plugged the hole with solder. Newbs tend to use to much flux and solder. I suggest you hold your finger on the spout and and make sure it comes out the shower

Yes I did check that. The water ran good.

Thank you
