Just put in an abs cleanout in an old 4" ci line and a short piece of the cast that ran to the clay pipe came loose. It was cemented into the clay bell. Is there a particular kind of cement that was commonly used? Could it be replaced using regular masonsay cement. There used to be a product called soil pipe cement, not sure if it is still available. The original cement was in place for about 70 years. When I cut the old cast it still has a 1/4" + of shiny metal left so I think it will be around for a long time yet. I used oakum and lead wool to make the connection but I would feel better making it with some type of cement. Suggestions Thanks - Son
