I have a 40,000-grain softener:
10x44 < tank.
1.25 CF < resin.
5600 < fleck mechanical head.
Water Hardness is < 5.0
Injector < 1.
Drain flow < 2.4 gpm.
BLFC < 0.5 GPM.
120 < gallons per day water use.
Salt set to 6lbs. was at 12, was told to set to 6lb.
This should be 8000 gal of water before regen. The capacity dial only goes to 2100 gallons. Wouldn’t that make it regenerate at about 17 days? Seems it should be more like 60 days or so.

I am on a private lake with a water system owned by a public co. , I called them for the hardness level and the PH because I know they check the water on a regular basis.
I am waiting for the water co. to get back to me on the iron and manganese level. They post water quality reports online, but they don't have iron and manganese in the report.
I rounded off to 5 to give a little extra. I just checked it with a Hach tester and it says 4gpg.

If the water is treated with chloromine or chlorine, I expect that iron and manganese are near zero by the time the water arrives at your house.

The hardness number they will know, probably.

Is this lake supplied by a natural stream and is not refilled from a well?

It is well.
And your right, no trace of iron and maganese.
I got the hardness readings from them. < they said between 4-4.5.

I think about 4300 gallons at 6 lbs total (4.8 lbs/cuft) salt and Hardness=5.

Same thought applies tho.
