I just replaced a dripping valve with a new one and it has a small drip from inside the thread body of the valve. I have tightened the valve pretty tight and ma afraid doing so any further might crack it.
I did not use any teflon tape when initially installing it and am wondering if removing the valve, taping the threads on the copper stubout and reinstalling the valve might stop the drip?
Picture for view is attached.
Thanks

Yes. I would uses higher grade PTFE (Teflon) tape. If you use both tape and pipe dope, that is even more likely to not leak.
