Newbie here.
I realize this is an unique situation.
Givens: 11" slope, 160' sch 40 4" pvc, 2 45* elbows, 20 amp 110 Volt system but 4 wire so I could go 220 Volt but would rather not.
Currently catch basin 1/2 hp sub. pump starts at -38", second sub. pump (1hp) starts at -32" and a 2" gas pump joins in when God is teaching me a lesson. I've had 6 200 year rain events in the last 5 years. I must be evil & 1200 years old.
I'm looking at replacing the 1 hp pump with a pond circulation / fountain pump rated at 10K GPH 12 amps (running) 3" inlet & discharge, $350 + check valve etc. I believe this high volume / low pressure style pump is a match for my $ pit of happy homeowner bliss. Adjacent land is in bankruptcy & in my state residential surface flooding is a very gray legal area.
Advice ? ... Non pyrotechnic or pharmacological advice?
My advice ... when the village topo. map states "Area of Low Flood Potential" run away, far away.
I must be holding one end of the curve so you all can enjoy life.
Thanks for advice.
