Silicon or acrylic caulking

We are going to be tiling our master bathroom. i want to know if we should use silicon or acrylic caulking you get in a tiling dept?

Sort of depends...

If you are trying to match the grout, most of those are acrylic, and can last awhile, depending on where it is and how well it is installed. Trying to match in silicon is tougher, partly because it is shiney, and second because it doesn't come in as many colors. Silicon will last longer but is also harder to clean up or remove when the time comes.

One problem many people make is installing the caulk too deep. If yuou have a deep slot to fill, first pack in a foam backer rod, then the caulk. It will last longer, and you'll also save some money as the backer rod is cheaper than the caulk.
