Hello all,

I am ready to install the shower in my new bath. My question pertains to the shower valve and head.

Can I, would it look stupid, is it done, placing the showerhead and valve on the opposite side as the drain? The shower is 60" wide and 32" deep. Drain on left. The pan and walls are Swanstone.

I ask because the toilet is 15" (centerline) from the shower on the side where drain is. It would be hard to access the valve from this end. The DWV was at the limit for slope, so I was unable to run the 2" to right side.

Thanks for any help!

it's diffrent... but #1 will it work?

YES

will it look stupid????

is this your house? are you looking for resale value or are you living there for years?

I've installed them that way and it worked... made sense to me.

I don't know if it'll affect the sale.

Functional is more important than visual.... but just a little.

Put it on the wronge side... if nobody likes it than they shouldn't be in YOUR house.

good luck

PS at a 1/4" per foot it would only be 1 1/4 inch fall to the other side

valve

As long as it is a true shower and not a shower over the bathtub, then there is no standard position for it. Some have the control where it is accessible and the head on one of the other walls or from the ceiling. Put it where it works for you.
