The shower doesn't drain until therr is about a 1/2 inch of water on the bottom of the pan. Once it starts draining it drains fine until the next shower. I am renting the home and do not get a lot of input/help from the owner. It's like you have the drain plugged and all the sudden it works perfect.
Thanks in advance
Mike

It sounds more like it was installed with two "P" traps and water cannot force the air between them out until the water gets high enough, and once that happens it drains normally.

Tile Top Drain. The drain grate is made up from tile. Water enters the drain from the sides....

I am getting the snake today. The drain is in a plastic shower enclosure.
