Hello!
We just moved into a new build home at the beginning of the year. For the past 2 weeks we have noticed a sewer smell in only one of the bathrooms, but it only happens when we are washing clothes. The laundry room and bathroom that smells are on opposite ends of the house. Not smelling it anywhere else including the laundry room.

Any idea what could cause this?
Thanks.

1. missing p-trap, not likely
2. imperfect set of wax ring on toilet...to check: put your nose at the junction of toilet and floor.
3. call the builder

Not easy to troubleshoot, but I suspect a belly in your piping. Rooms are on a slab?

Septic tank, or sewer?

Thanks for the info. No smell coming from toilet. We have a call in, just waiting to hear back.
