Howdy!
This is our first Fleck install and we want to make sure we configure it properly. Let me know if I forget any crucial information. I did a quick search for the 5812 and saw the thread regarding a similar-sized unit with a different injector - so didn't want to use those settings directly (without checking you know).

Use:
Hardness - San Diego city water - GPG ~ 17 (from city water reports)
People - 3 adults in the household (new construction, not positive on exact water use yet)

Softener:
Model - Fleck 5812 SXT w/ 13" x 54" resin tank (2.5 cu ft)
BLFC - 0.5 gpm
DLFC - ? (3/4" BLANK was shipped *maybe* in error, so we'll request the recommended from the supplier)
Injector - #2 (blue)

Any advice is much appreciated, we are planning on running a 3/4" PVC drain line, and think we should request the 4 gpm DLFC button but want to double-check on that as well.

Thank you,
Christopher

Confirm you want 4.
Injector - #2 (blue)
Acceptable, but I would prefer #0 Injector - Red or #1 Injector - White.

System info (not programmed)
salt lb/cuft : 7.8 ; A choice ( efficiency vs capacity)
BLFC : 0.5 ; Brine Refill rate GPM
cubic ft resin : 2.5 ; Same as (nominal grains/32,000)
Raw hardness : 18 ; including iron etc
Estimated gal/day ; 180 ; 60 gal per person prediction (auto-tunes)
Est days/regen ; 16.41 ; presuming days each use estimated

Fleck 5812SXT Settings:
DF = Gal ; Units
VT = 5812 ; Valve type
RF = dF2b ; Downflow, Double Backwash
CT = Fd ; Meter Delayed regen trigger
C = 59.3 ; capacity in 1000 grains
H = 20 ; Hardness grains after comp factor
RS = cr ; Cr = base reserve on recent experience
DO = 30 ; Day Override (typ 30 if no iron/Mn)
RT = 2:00 ; Regen time (default 2 AM)
B1 = 5 ; Backwash 1 (minutes) [3...10]
Bd = 60 ; Brine draw minutes # for #1 white (or #2). Use 80 to 85 for #0 red.
B2 = 4 ; Backwash 2 (minutes)[3...10]
RR = 6 ; Rapid Rinse minutes
BF = 13 ; Brine fill minutes
FM = t1.2 (usual) ; t1.2 is default flow meter
RE = OFF ; Relay
VR = OFF ; ?
===================================================
The less salt per cubic ft, the more salt efficient, but more hardness breakthrough.
Revised based on number from https://terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/help-for-programming-fleck-5810.82673/#post-595983

BLFC = 0.5
cubic ft resin = 2.5
Alternative C and BF pairs:
lb/cuft ; C= ; BF=

5.400 ; 49.8 ; 9 ** lean
6.000 ; 52.5 ; 10 ** reasonable low-salt setting
6.600 ; 55.0 ; 11 ** reasonable
7.200 ; 57.3 ; 12 ** reasonable moderate
7.800 ; 59.3 ; 13 ** used above
8.400 ; 61.2 ; 14 ** reasonable uses more salt
9.000 ; 62.9 ; 15
9.600 ; 64.5 ; 16
10.200 ; 65.9 ; 17 **softer but uses more salt

Thank you @Reach4, we really appreciate it. We'll request the 4 gpm button and see if we can easily get our hands on a #0 or #1 injector. Noticed the Fleck top distributor basket wasn't in the box of Fleck parts (but was ordered), so we'll have to get it before the install also.

Thank you again!

Make sure the left side looks like this for the meter, rather than having a domed piece where the meter turbine should be:

It does indeed look exactly like that. I saw one of your other posts on the subject and made sure it came with the meter.

The supplier said based on the 5810/12 SXT service manual the top basket has been depreciated in exchange for item 23 (page 17) part# 41747 [Retainer, Distributor, 1.5"].

Does that sound correct? Since I'm a novice I just want to double-check with the more experienced. (You guys)

They are checking on the DLFC button and different injector (#0, or #1).

In my manual, Item #23 is shown as Part #61419 - Kit, 1.05" Distributor Adapter

Part #41747 is shown as Item #25

Am I looking a the right manual, or is one of ours newer than the other?
I do see the part you listed, but the distributor adapters are items 19-21 of this pdf below.
https://www.pentair.com/content/dam/extranet/fleck/manuals/44019-fleck-5810-5812sxt-manual.pdf

Should I have any concern about not using the traditional top plastic basket on city water? Again... I'm sure these are novice questions.
