Hi ,
I have 400 ft drilled well .Static level is 120 , I have 1.5 hp pump. Well produces 2 gal. per min. Any suggestions on how deep to set the pump ? I have had someone say 380 ft , but concerned about sediment issue. any advice would be great. Thanks in advance !

What diameter is the well? A flow inducer can help things including sediment that might fall from above.

20 ft off of the bottom is usually considered to be a good number, and leaves considerable room for sediment.

Is that a 10 gpm 1.5 HP pump?

Like Reach says 20' off the bottom should be fine if you can use a flow inducer. With a static of 120', even setting the pump at 300' will give you about 270 gallons stored in the well, which should be plenty.
