I'm trying to understand the proper way to secure PEX to allow for its expansion and contraction properties.
When securing with a Talon fastener specific to PEX should the PEX be flush against the joist or should a space (maybe 1/16 inch or so) be left between the joist and the PEX?

My thinking is that if it needs to contract or expand length ways it would just float thru the talon supports and not be hindered by scraping along the joist.
Also, is it better to secure only every 32 inches rather than every 16 inches to allow a little droop to help when it expands?

thanks in advance,
Joe Brown (yes, its my real name)
