We used to have a bar sink that in 37 years we never used. We are doing new cabinets and no longer need the sink. I don't want to lose out on cabinet space due to the old plumbing so was going to cap the lines off shorter and the same with the drain. However I'm not really sure how to solve the following issue with the drain. See picture. Note that there is a 1/2 bath on the other side of the wall that the drain and water connect with.

yep. Was done in the late 1980's. I was able to cut off enough of the elbow and a plug to be able to manufacture a stop that is just a little proud of the wall board. I'll used an access panel which should give me just enough clearance to close it up and still have access. It is going to be behind a cabinet anyway.
