Can I get some opinions about these two one-piece toilets?

The Toto is about $200 more.

Also what is the Kohler name for biscuit? lol

Does this Kohler have a design similar to the Ultramax II with no holes under the rim? And does that make the UM a better choice (the double cyclone design) ?

Do they both have similar glaze technology or is the Toto better? I know Terry is on record saying Toto's quality control with the glaze is the best...

Thank You,

Lee

Look at the side of the Santa Rosa...you'll notice that the waste line at the bottom goes essentially flat and then makes an abrupt right-angle bend after making a sharp bend coming out of the bowl. Now, look at the Ultramax where it routes the waste in an arc ending with it pointing straight down the flange. Which one do you think will end up having an issue more often? Smoother curves with no abrupt changes of direction are great for keeping the velocity up and moving the waste. right angles are not. Which one do you think is a bit harder to mold? That's one reason why it costs a bit more. I can't be sure, but it looks like the Santa Rosa uses a conventional rim with numerous holes around the periphery. The Ultramax II doesn't have a conventional rim and has two holes that direct water around the bowl in a swirling action. The original Ultramax has a conventional rim that may miss some spots (like the Kohler) on the bowl wash.

A local plumbing supply shop may have better prices. You can get an idea of a fair price by looking at Terry's storefront.

Kohler color Biscuit is code number 96. It's right there at the bottom of the pdf file you posted. Toto color Sedona Beige is the close to Biscuit, a shade or two difference but not exactly the same.

Thanks for the input guys! I've been reading up and watching videos. The Santa Rosa uses the traditional holes under the rim, I think I need to try out the UM II, I think it's going to be better. I never had any complaints so far about the Sedonia Beige, it seems it's close enough to the biscuit color so far!
