Hello - looking for help at solving the mystery ... we have a sand-like (off white tiny grain)substance clogging bathroom sink and shower fixtures. We have had hot water heater flushed (4 yr old heater), water softener flushed and tested (all is good there), and still the problem persists. This has effected two out of three showers and two out of 5 sink faucets. Only clogs the hot side. Seems to be slight debris in toilet tank as well. One plumber said water heater was bad. Another said water softener was working "good" but beginning to breakdown. And a third said "just add an expensive sediment to clean the water and don't worry."
We are on city supplied water. We have a second water heater on the opposite end of the house that supplies multiple fixtures and those fixtures do not have this issue so we are fairly certain its not from the water supply.
Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this or where to go next?
Pictures show sink faucet screen with substance, substance on finger to show how small it is, and substance collecting on closed sink drain when running water for about ten seconds.
Thanks for your help!
